Certispec Occupational Health & Safety Policy

Certispec Services Inc. (Certispec) is committed to providing a healthy and safe working environment for all company employees, stakeholders, visitors and the surrounding public. The company has developed the following Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Policy to clearly communicate Certispec Services commitment and expectations regarding OHS performance. In support of this policy, the company has developed and implemented an OHS program which details how the company will manage OHS functions.
Certispec recognizes that all employees have the right to a safe and healthy working environment. Employees also have a personal responsibility to participate in finding solutions to health and safety challenges. 
Certispec Services Inc. is committed to:
  1. protecting the health and safety of our employees, contracting parties, visitors and the public;
  2. complying with government OHS legislation as a minimum requirement;
  3. minimizing the risk of occupational injury, illness, and property damage through:
  • implementing an OHS program;
  • providing the financial and human resources necessary to effectively support the OHS policy and program;
  • communicating OHS responsibilities to all employees including managers, supervisors, workers, subcontractors and visitors;
  • verifying that responsibilities are carried out and implementing corrective actions (including disciplinary action) when deficiencies are identified;
  • identifying workplace hazards and effectively communicating information about hazards and controls throughout the workplace;
  • responding to reports of OHS concerns from employees, subcontractors, the public and other stakeholders in a timely fashion; and
  • supporting and working cooperatively with OHS committees’ representatives.

 Providing a workplace that is free from harm while conducting profitable business is the company’s primary objective. This goal will be achieved through cooperative conduct and continual improvement of our policies, procedures and processes. The specific company OHS goals, achievements, policies and program will be reviewed and evaluated at minimum annually in efforts to measure company OHS performance and effectiveness. Corrective action plans will be developed and deficiencies corrected following all program evaluations. Results of evaluations will be communicated to all employees.
This policy will be reviewed, at minimum, annually by our management team. Violations of this policy will be recorded and corrective actions will be taken to prevent re occurrence. Repeated disregard or willful violations of this policy by any subcontractor or employee at any level may be cause for discipline in accordance with the Progressive Discipline policy outlined in the Certispec OHS Program.
